International Contest for the best extra virgin olive oil & best oil landscape

Olive trees and their extravirgin oil are the basis for the whole Mediterranean food and Culture.

Indeed, there are countless links between the olive and the history, the landscape, the very identity of the peoples of the Mediterranean.

Extrascape is the first international contest for extra virgin olive oils and olive-growing landscapes, developed to enhance the cultural and landscape aspects of the olive cultivation.

Indeed, the olive tree can effectively communicate and exploit, also from a tourist point of view, the territory where it grows and, therefore, it can contribute to the economic and social development of its (our!) territory.

If you are a producer of extra virgin quality and want to share our project, enter the Extrascape contest, filling in the form of pre-registration below!

• An international professional jury will evaluate the competing oils and landscapes from around the world;
• Prestigious universities (see the sidebar on the right) will participate in the analysis and evaluation of landscape profiles;
• The promotion in Italy and abroad, through the organization of prestigious events, will provide the proper international visibility to the contest and all its participants;
• The competing oils and landascapes will be presented in March in Chicago at the prestigiuous Tony Mantuano‘s La Spiaggia restaurant, in addition to the site and the other events organized.
• The winning oils will be awarded in May 1, 2012 in San Martino in Pensilis surrounded by the unique atmosphere of the traditional, ancient Carrese of St. Martin in Pensilis (CB), a spectacular race between hoxen-drawn carts and an important testimony of the rural Italian culture.
